Q&A: How can I protect my online photos on my website?

I know it is impossible to completely protect photos online, but what is the best way to protect them from being stolen? I’m not too happy to put watermarks on them. I still want my site and photos to be enjoyable. Any suggestions? Thanks.

every computer has a PrintScrn key, so anyone can steal anything they see on their computers. Other than watermarks, the only thing you can do is control who accesses your site.

Do the online photo websites serve as a backup for your digital photos?

Just curious that if you uploaded all your pictures to an online website (like photobucket) and then you had a fire in your home and lost the backups to your photos that you uploaded. Could you retrieve copies from your uploaded files? (like download all 3000 pictures on the website back down to my computer). Do photo websites allow that?

No way, I only ever put low res photographs on line with a signature.

I store mine on multiple hard drives, its the only safe way.

Does anyone know of a good Stock Photo website where I can sell my photos?

What I’m really asking is, do stock photo websites exist that let me sign up and sell my photos at my own leisure? I don’t want to pay a continuous fee. If they’ll take a percent of the income and leave it at that, I’d be perfect. Does such a website exist?

I have my photos stored on one online photo album, but they are requiring me to buy prints or such to keep my account open. I’d like to transfer my photos to a free site!

1. Your online photo storage should not be a primary place for your photo saving locations.

2. You would have to be more specific to what sight your photos are on now for us to know how to tell you the best way of retrieving the photo(s).

Why do people use certain photos to represent themselves online ?

What can you say about women who post seductive pics about themselves online ? Are they using that image to be seen as desirable and attractive by others ? Or how about guys who post photos of cars and muscles ?

What do these images represent ? Do they want to be seen as ‘desirable’ to others and by societal standards ?

I need a high fashion photos for the website. Most of the foto stocks have generic pics (family, everyday ppl, etc). i need edgy, glamor, high fashion. I found some on flickr. Can i use those pics or i have to contact an author for permission.

You have to contact the photographer for permission to use them. They may want to charge you for the right to use them on your website or maybe they will just want a by line. Email them and see what happens! The worst they can do is tell you no!
